Earlier this fall Red Bull reached out to me as they needed some portraits of an artist by the name of Thomas Evans, aka, Detour. These portraits would go on to run in Red Bull’s magazine The Red Bulletin, which highlighted not only the artist himself but also an upcoming show of his that focused on the future, technology, etc. 

Red Bull helped Detour in creating this month-long futuristic and interactive art exhibit and musical journey, featuring instruments he designed which were then played by a live band at the opening, and a fully working electric motorcycle customized with his artwork as well.

Given Detour’s use of light and color throughout his work, I approached shooting his portraits in the same way, which ran in the December issue of The Red Bulletin.
