When I heard Mike Giant had relocated from San Francisco to Boulder, I knew I had to email him. 

His work has been shown in galleries around the world, and his collaborations include working with brands like Cinelli and Sharpie, with Major Lazer even featuring Mike’s signature style.

When Mike got back from a coffee run that morning we got to work, with a mix of Metallica and John Coltrane coming through the speakers. After getting some shots of Mike in his studio space decked out with posters and a solid collection of vinyl, we shot a number of portraits as subjects like creative flow and Whoopi Goldberg were discussed.

Since Mike had so many albums on his shelf I asked him which one he would take to a desert island.. “This one for sure, it just reminds me of growing up and skating with my friends” he said holding up Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All
